Mission Statement

The sole purpose of the Oak Ridge Disciple House is to provide men struggling with drug and alcohol addiction an opportunity to spend six months with God and other Christians learning how starting a relationship with Jesus Christ is the first and most important step in finding freedom from the bondage to drugs, alcohol ,and life hurts.

Ministry Overview

Ministry Overview

We are a faith based, Christian Character Building Ministry. The “plan” we use is Christ-centered and structured toward an understanding that Christ gives hope to a hopeless and broken life.  From starting our day with scripture memorization to having afternoon Bible studies and life skills classes then nightly chapel services with praise and worship, every man is given an opportunity to build a firm foundation rooted in God’s word. The Oak Ridge Disciple House firmly believes in Matthew 6:33, which says, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.” Our commitment is to provide a safe and controlled environment giving every man an opportunity at a new life. We are committed to serving and helping men who are truly ready to surrender and want to change their lives for the better. We want to be a part of God’s work in restoring lives and family relationships.

From Our Director

A Letter from Founder & Executive Director Joshua Harris

This recovery program is near and dear to my heart because God used it to save my life 18 years ago !  I was caught in the grip of a severe 15 year drug addiction when I was introduced to Jesus Christ and a Christian Character Building Program just like this one. It transformed my heart, and gave me the tools I needed to say no to Satan and his lies!

That is why I have committed the rest of my life to helping other men find that same freedom in Christ. This program has been used by God to transform this broken man into a servant and disciple for the body of Christ.

It is not a quick fix but a program that will give a man who truly surrenders the opportunity to NEVER go back to the old life. It comes with a cost though. Each man must be ready to change and as they say in twelve step meetings…..BE SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED. Call me and let me share with you how God has taken a selfish, all-about-me man and turned him into a minister who loves people and especially the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

A servant, Joshua Harris

Let’s begin praying God will open the doors for him to come to the Oak Ridge Disciple House and start putting his broken life back together.
